Energy & Utility Skills
Licensed by the UK government and working under licence to the Department
for Education and Skills (DfES) Energy & Utility Skills is the Sector
Skills Council (SSC) representing the needs of employers, in the electricity,
gas, waste management and water industries.
The skills of people in these industries and their ongoing development is
crucially important. It is central to the government's Skills Strategy
that the provision of training and skills development, and the related
systems of qualifications, should be determined by the needs of employers
and employees, now and in the future.
As an employer-led Sector Skills Council, our purpose is to lead the drive
to improve skills and enable the provision of an appropriately skilled
workforce to help businesses raise productivity, improve performance and
attract people to a career in this sector.
Energy & Utility Skills are part of a UK wide network of
Sector Skills Councils charged to lead this skills and productivity drive. The Sector
Skills Development Agency (SSDA) has been established to underpin the
SSC network and promote effective working between sectors.
As an employer, employee or stakeholder, www.euskills.co.uk
